April 30, 2004 - Our 2004 Rate Tables available!

Please be advised that we have 8 new contract rate tables. All rates subject to further revisions due to possible typing errors.

In compliance with the nature of confidentiality of Shipping Reform Act of 1999, all contract information is strictly confidential. Please do not disclose any contract information outside the association in order not to violate the Shipping Reform Act. Please email us for the password to view the new rate tables. Please do not call. Thank you for your cooperation.

Many of you complained that you could not view the rate tables because you do not have Adobe Acrobat and could not download it. Adobe makes it a little difficult because they make you register before you can download the file. If you don't want to go through all that, please click the following hyperlinks to download it directly. Please note that the readers are over 3 MB in size. If you are using a modem, it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to over 1 hour to download. You will only need to do this once. If you can not download these files, wait a while and try again. Adobe's FTP site is very busy and their servers have a 500 user connect limit.

After downloading the installation file, install each one and follow the directions on the screen. Once you have properly installed Acrobat, you should be able to read the rate tables.

Company Profile

The association was originally founded in late 1989 in compliance of the shipping act of 1984 as American Import Food Association (AIFA) with only 8 charter members. On January 27, 1994, the company was renamed as American Food Shippers Association, Inc. On January 2, 2002, our company name has changed to AFSA, Inc. Currently, we have over 200 members located in the United States and abroad. The association is located in Parsippany, NJ, a suburban area of metropolitan New York City. Our president is Owen W. Fu, an ocean transportation veteran for over quarter century. Mr. Fu holds BA and MBA degrees and spent years of study in ocean transportation management at Maritime College of State University of New York. Most shippers recognize him as the "First Aid" when it comes to ocean shipping problems both at work and in theory.
