WHAT DO WE DO FOR OUR MEMBERS?

Our main function is to represent our members negotiating ocean freight rates with various steamship lines and sign service contracts/rate agreements on behalf of our members. Thus, being a valid member of this association, you are entitled to use all the rates in our contracts with the carriers.

HOW DO WE WORK ON CONTRACT NEGOTIATION AND VOLUME COMMITMENT?

We use our expertise in the shipping industry to obtain the most reasonable rate level to bargain with the steamship line based on the volume we commit on the contract. Theoretically, all members have to share part of our total volume commitment in the contract. As we have grown with quite enough cargo volume now, unless we feel that a particular contract may have fulfillment problem, we do not ask our individual member to commit partially on every contract we sign with the shipping company. However, our membership agreement does reserve the right to require members to commit their own portion in our contract commitment.

OUR SERVICES OTHER THAN SERVICE CONTRACT NEGOTIATION

1. Research to look for better rate and new service in the steamship market. If any of our members are not satisfied with our current contract rate or do not find the service you need, please let us know and we will try our best to find an alternative solution for you.
2. Interpretation of freight calculation and correction of freight rate discrepancy.
3. Suggestion of freight routing and selection of proper carrier.
4. Explaination of preparation of shipping documents.
5. Consultation of maritime related affairs in import/export business, such as traffic, intermodel, claims, banking, etc.
